Bali Day 1 (Ubud & Kintamani)

Random update: I passed all units for my previous exam. Pheww. However, results are not satisfying. What can I say? We should never be too contented.

Went for a four-full-day vacation with my parents to Bali. My comment on the island, beautiful, exciting and swarmed with friggin Australians. You could throw a pebble at a white guy and he'll probably yell at you with his Aussie accent. My comment on the people, welcoming, friendly and never failed to put a smile on your faces.

Barong dan Keris dance

As we were following a tour guide, our first stop would always be their cultural dance/drama. Please don't ask me what is it about as I didn't understand it despite having the brochure which explains the story in my hands. I didn't wanna be disrespectful, but yes, I almost fell asleep and I wasn't the only one! Even the ang mo beside me yawned countless of times.

Balinese version of Lion Dance.

Two dancers.

Ubud area

Ubud is basically where they sell cultural goods and handicrafts. We went to an art gallery which exhibits and sells paintings which are done by local artists.

Went to a handicraft and souvenir centre as well. I wouldn't recommend you to buy anything here as the things here are more expensive AND you're not allowed to bargain. You could get the exact same thing at tiny shops that you see around town at half the price or less. No kidding.

Luwak coffee. In Chinese we call it 猫屎咖啡. Price, expensive but according to my dad the coffee's really good.

Believe it or not ,the coffee's made of this animal's faeces. :D

Loads and loads of accessories that you need to spend at least RM15 for one in Malaysia. I bought one for RM3.5 only. hehe

Kintamani Volcano

Had buffet lunch in a restaurant near the volcano mountain.

Various choices of Balinese food.
Balinese satay. I didn't really like it as they used coconut milk in it.
Kintamani Volcano. According to a tour guide, this volcano is still considered active as they still see smoke coming out from it from time to time.

Lake Batur, beside the volcano.

Me and the volcano.

This is the decorated bamboo that I saw outside every building in Bali. They made this for a festival call Hari Raya Galungan. The bamboo symbolizes the dragon, which brings prosperity to their families.

A stall that sells fruits. I like how they arranged their fruits here. :)

To be continued..
