Cameron Highland 2010

Updates: I've got my results more than a week ago and I am proud to announce that I actually DID NOT flunk the first semester of my first year in degree. In fact, I think I did pretty well. Of course, with the results, my chances of getting a scholarship is definitely slim but hey, I still have a chance right? Maybe they'll like me in the interviews or something. Lol what a dream. Anyway, it wasn't exactly excellent but it was okay, and certainly better than I expected. I guess hard work paid off, as usual. However, I kinda regret for watching series and stuff during my exams. Teehee

Back to the topic. I went to KL with my parents two weeks ago for my annual shopping spree and my parents decided to give Cameron Highland a try, since I've never been there before and the place was their honeymoon vacation somewhat 38 years ago. Wow that's super long.

I've been trying to do a post on this but my lappie and internet connection didn't allow me. So I spent like a week just to upload the photos. You probably think I'm stupid because I'm not using Window's Live Writer. Well, it's because the thing recognized my blog as "inactive". I wonder if it's because I did not verify my email to the blog or I named my blog as "inactive blog". Geez, I'll mind it later.

Cameron Highland is around 5 hours drive from KL and the bus fare per person is around RM35. Try to survey and get a good bus or the 5-hour journey will be a torture to you. The route includes serious winding and there was this lady who puked in the bus. I have car-sickness when it comes to winding roads too, but I was lucky to be able to fall asleep.

Cameron Highland is divided into two towns, one is named Tanah Rata, which is at the lower land whereas Brinchang is at the higher land. The taxi fare from one town to another is about RM6. Tanah Rata has more Malay shops and eateries. However, most of the tourist attractions are located here.
This is a picture of my parents at Tanah Rata town. In comparison, the scenery there is prettier. But to me this place is a little boring and nothing much to see.
Brinchang, on the other hand has lots of Chinese cuisines and eateries. More souvenir shops are located here too. This is a photo of one of the steamboat restaurants in Cameron Highland. Your visit wouldn't be complete without having a steamboat meal there.
This is honey. In fact, the honey was really good. This was taken at a night market there. It's a weekend night market. You can see lots of delicious food, vegetables, fruits and flowers in the night market. The human traffic in the night market was just outrageous. It's amazing how people love to squeeze.
Fresh flowers sold at the night market. My mom was so freakin excited. She bought some dried flowers and managed to sneak a pitcher plant to Kuching.
Water-crest farm. Well, I went for an agro-related tour.
Some kind of long bean which I don't remember the name.
Err, another kind of plant. =.=
Chrysanthemum's!They're sooo pretty. Our tour guide told us they are only for exportation purposes, means the people of our country don't get any of them. The government just wanna earn. Shish
Strawberries! All of the strawberries there are sour in taste. I was told that sour strawberries are more healthy. Those sweet strawberries that you get from Japan are genetically modified and their enzymes or things like that are damaged, which cause them to be unhealthy to our bodies.
We were allowed to pluck the strawberries. However, we'll have to pay a little more for self-plucked strawberries.
Mom and her lettuces. The vegetables there are cultivated using hydroponic methods, which means having a tube of water to cultivate them.
The cactus valley. This is basically their mini desert.
A cactus with an alien head.
This picture is so nice!
Cactus with devil horns and eyes. But I think it's kinda cute.
Medussa's hair. yuck
Hibiscus, our national flower. Malaysia Boleh!!
Steamboat. It was nicee.

A garden at Tanah Rata.

In short, the trip was okay. I love the weather and the cheap strawberries. Not to mention the fresh fruits as well. Oh well, seeya!
